Candid, Colorful Moments Captured by Nassimbeni Photo & Films
Up the Creek Farms in Malabar, Florida, is one of those rare wedding venues that feels straight out of a Southern romance novel. Oak trees draped in Spanish moss, soft golden light filtering through the branches, and quiet corners perfect for private moments. It’s no wonder Isabel and Cullen chose this stunning venue not only for their October wedding, but also for their engagement session.

Photographing engagement portraits at your wedding venue is always special, but this session felt especially meaningful. We had the chance to explore areas of Up the Creek Farms that couples don’t always get to enjoy on the wedding day. Spots that are usually reserved for cocktail hour or are just too far for a quick walk in heels and a gown. With no time crunch or guest list waiting, Isabel and Cullen were able to relax and enjoy the space in a completely different way.

And what a joy they were to photograph! Isabel and Cullen are one of those couples who are just effortlessly connected. They didn’t need direction to be affectionate or playful, they simply showed up as themselves. Their energy is warm and easy, the kind of love that shines through naturally in every photo. They met back in college through a shared circle of friends, and their story has all the sweet charm of a rom-com “meet cute.” It’s clear their bond is strong, and documenting this chapter for them was such a privilege.

Even though the sun played hide-and-seek behind the clouds during their summer session (hello, Florida weather!), we embraced it. The filtered light through the oak canopy gave us such a dreamy, romantic atmosphere, and the variety made for a beautiful mix of glowing warmth and soft shade. It’s hard to take a bad photo when your backdrop is this magical and your couple is this in love.

Planning Your Engagement Session at Up the Creek Farms
Engagement sessions at Up the Creek Farms offer a unique chance to explore more of the property than you might be able to on your actual wedding day. With no timeline to stick to, we can take our time walking the full grounds, photographing in tucked-away spots like the far side of the lawn, down by the water, or around the cocktail hour area. Whether you’re envisioning bold, colorful florals or something more neutral and timeless, this venue creates a perfect canvas for every style.
If you’re dreaming of portraits beneath mossy oak trees or golden-hour light that streams through branches just so, this is the place. Isabel and Cullen’s session gave us all of that and more, and it has me even more excited for their October wedding day.
